LAS, which apparently is just south of LAX (and offshore).

I've been chasing rabbits on this one...could I ask for a nudge as we cruise closer to happy hour?
It’s published online Thursday at 4 pm. You don’t have to wait for Friday!

Cindy N wrote: Fri Aug 14, 2020 11:08 pm I don't know the last time I have been this LAS. Or am I? I saw something that I recognized, one of those bits of odd knowledge that randomly surfaces. It gave me an answer that fit for the meta, but that's certainly a strange way to come up with an solution I can't confirm. If you're willing to hear what I have and/or perhaps give me a nudge in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated!
You’ve probably already got a reply by now, but if not, feel free to PM me.

In general though, this is a nice solid 100%er. Nothing strange or iffy about it.

🚨 Warning! Navigation error! 🚨

LAS is about 200 nautical miles northeast of LAX.

(Sorry, I couldn’t help myself:)

Thanks to an excellent nudge, I got myself out of the rabbit hole and on the beach! I should have stayed with something I first noticed, instead of being distracted by what proved to be useless trivia. Today's reward is the new flavor of Dr. Pepper - cream soda. It's...interesting.

Hey, I finally figured out my first meta, and I'm no longer at sea (literally and figuratively)! Lots of fun!

On shore, solution delayed by a painting project. Love this meta, wish I had some of the answer to celebrate with.

We should all keep a stock of this on hand! (Not sure how it mixes with the meta answer ...)

So far ashore I’m in the mountains! This one is not my usual forte and I’m so satisfied to have solved it. Gruner Vetliner in hand - I will sleep well. Looking forward to a sunny hike tomorrow with nothing but a NYT Crossword to occupy me for the remainder of the weekend.

It was completely Mark's idea. A strong believer in supply and demand, he thinks the per-bottle price should be jacked up as the weekend progresses.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

On shore for the first time in ages! Metaphorical sand is all I’ll be feeling this summer, so I’m glad I finally made it. Almost forgot how good it feels :)
