Reprinted the grid so that I could get a fresh look and I'm pretty sure that I've left Issac and am on shore. It's a hot one, so frozen margs tonight!

Ashore with a nudge from @DrTom . “Nudge” being an understatement as I was not even in the right ocean! Not submitting an answer on this but glad to have worked through it. A very interesting construction.
Always happy to provide a nudge if I’m ashore.

Sorry for the late post, but I have been planted in the bar with Isaac all weekend up until now. But I am on the beach! (I think I am anyway).

Somewhat to my surprise, I find myself ashore! (Recently, I’ve been giving the metas short shrift, but I stuck this one out until the necessary “aha moments” sneaked up on me … 😳.)

I made it to shore. I brought a paper copy on the train ride to the ballpark, and I just needed an old idea and a fresh look.

Still at sea. Don’t see any way off this ship.

EDIT: Sent in an answer. Finally saw what I needed to see but not sure if it’s the right shore.

Just found this group and I love the camaraderie!
I have the first (probably obvious) step to the answer but I’m not sure how to proceed - maybe because I’m fairly new to these puzzles having only picked them up recently.
Nudges and helpful shoreline gusts are appreciated :)

Pretty sure we made it to the beach. If I’m on the wrong beach, it’s a helluva rabbit hole!

Ashore w kudos to my husband, who is not a regular meta fan but got us across the finish line on this one. I think I really like this puzzle. Nice work, Mike Shenk.

Our final count is 6 on the ship and 145 on the shore

Good luck winning the elusive mug

Ashore! Needed some nudges from ergcat (I blame not thinking straight on the newborn 🤪) but figured it out. Enjoying a surprisingly good cherry cola flavored beer.

Loved this Meta... despite an unavoidable nit... Ashore. OH, and I didn't get it, until I took a gamble.

aagh!!! I was thinking poker from the title and came up with All-in but wasn't actually finding that specifically in the puzzle anywhere and after spending a bunch of time on it abandoned it for the weekend. then at ten to midnight I took one last lap through the puzzle and spotted the ten/jack/queen/king/ace situation. But frustratingly those corresponding answers didn't spell anything. I completely missed the suits. I wish I had caught on to the cards sooner bc I think with more time I would've found the suits and figured it out. I submitted flush as a hail mary. Now I'm more irritated than if I had been completely off and had no chance. The close call hurts more!
