@Al Sisti There is a good chance that your answer is correct. Whether it is or isn't, you will kick yourself for missing the easter eggs on this one.

Started this morning. I have what I would consider 1a and 1b of the mechanism (which I believe is 100% right for too many coincidences). Stumped so far on 2a, 2b, 2c etc etc

Bob, you can move me to shore. I just figured it out!

And with no help from the kids, one of whom should have gotten it, given it's in their wheelhouse, up their alley, is their jam, is in their ballpark, is their cup of tea... (You get the idea.)

It's very obvious what we are asked to do, but I have no idea how to do it.

Wow! My husband wound up getting this! He hates the meta! Hates it! He has a very special expression of despair and resignation he uses only when I try to talk to him about the meta. But this was a Hail Mary pass, y’all. So I am on shore after being brought in by the world’s most reluctant lifeguard.

Finally on shore with some help. Nice idea, but could have been better and less confusing.

Got on shore with some assistance from @Bob cruise director, or at least enough for me not to submit this week.

AHA! Thank you to BarbaraK for all the assistance. Certainly not in my wheelhouse, but I was dancing around the answer last night. Very fun!

Aship!
Being on vacation, as soon as I saw the first of several of the word "slog," I went back to putting my feet up.

Ashore with what I consider a big push from @ship4u. The finish was much simpler than the start.
