I should have flunked ESL. It's been what, 50 years since Gordon Lightfoot recorded 17A? All this time I thought he was singing different words!

Finally finished the grid, which gave me inexplicable trouble. Still one square open where the names of two unheard-of people cross, but that's incidental to the meta. I hope.

Spending Friday night in the ship, Cruise Director Bob.

Ahoy, Isaac!
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Ashore! Didn't think I would make it before the Zoom call, but I got in under the wire. Very clever puzzle.

I met a friend yesterday for beers in the afternoon, so I didn't get around to working on this until today. Luckily, I am meeting another friend for beers this afternoon, so I'll likely be having a Tierra Madre on the sunny patio.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Needed assurance from the Zoom group that one of my thoughts was right. Was finally able to finish seeing the rest.

Done and done.
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

I thought No Way too, so I went off on a lot of detours before I came back to it and Yes Way!

Ashore with a nudge from the Zoom call. It would have been easier if my grid entries had been correct before I started working on the meta!

I'm on the boat still.
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

I got this early this AM, but goodness it was a long road to posting it, trains running late.

Ashore… gotta love it when the first metanism path you think of turns out to be correct. Counting today, that makes (checks notes) … 1 times this has ever happened to me.
