The construction of the puzzle makes one answer clearly the best even if other answers can be arrived at via some torturous route. The nit I would pick is whether that answer really fits the specs.

Good Saturday morning

First thing is a welcome to our three newest muggles: yourpalsal, SusieG and michaelm.

Second, the people who have concerns about aspects of the puzzle, we have seen enough postings that I think no more are required. We are going to go through them to see if they are too close to spoilers.

And we have 5 muggles keeping Isaac company on the ship - most with an answer but feel it necessary to keep Isaac in business for now

And the shore is pretty crowded with 105 muggles filling it up.

On the ship are:
Laura
Juliet
Janet
Janet P
and Colin

And the crowd on the shore include:

Ashore. Feeling like a Dogfish 90 Minute IPA ... because given the comments of other Muggles, I’m only 90% sure of my solution!

Two Janets at the bar is probably too much for Isaac to handle!
I shall cadge a keg of that favorite Irish Stout and begin a slow row to the beach. I trust someone there will have a tap...

Solved. Hello all from Matthews and Charlotte NC where we do not have tornadoes in the city. But Thursday we did and it passed right over my house. We have no damage at all but there are trees through homes and buildings destroyed very close by. For those of you who live in tornado prove areas, I don’t know how you do it. We’ve been without power since Thursday.

And as I am typing it is now snowing. Also something we only see once a year or so.

And for those of you who are wondering how my floors turned out they are beautiful. I am waiting for the movers to finish putting my furniture back in place as we speak.

On shore. Hopefully the right shore. This is a 1-star puzzle in more ways than one for me. Hoping the the explanation on Monday makes sense and also makes me less irritated with Mike Shenk.

Well, I'm on some kind of shore. I submitted my answer, at least.

Just returned from four days cross country skiing and snow-shoeing in the beautiful 100-Mile Wilderness. (Marge of Maine will know it.) Sounds rigorous, but not really. A trek from lodge-to-comfy lodge over meticulously groomed trails. Warm cabins, terrific cooks and an abundance of food. Baggage hauled by motorized sledge! Sauna bathing! Thanks, Appalachian Mountain Club! Now I need a good shave, and Mr. Occam seems to offer the proper tool, such that I might make a shorn and proper appearance at the Tiki Bar.

Forgot I hadn't submitted the answer that I wasn't happy with. I don't think I'll find one that makes me any happier, so I submitted and will call myself on shore. It seems likely that I'll have company, whichever shore I happen to be on!

A technical question: I've tried to respond to a PM and my responses are stuck in my outbox. I then tried to send Brian Mac a message to ask about the fix....but it is stuck in the outbox! Any tips would be most welcome, all the best, p

I think the way it works is sent messages appear to stay in your Outbox until they’re read. They don’t get stuck per se. It’s counterintuitive for sure.

Brian and others, feel free to correct this if I have it wrong.

Submitted an answer. I spent an inordinate amount of time looking for the pageant, but could not find it.
