Ignoring my mantra of "99% of the way across the river is not a bridge," I sent in an answer. Am I on shore? Unlikely, given the many references to "special knowledge." All I'm sure of is that I have left the ship, and a hefty tip for Isaac.

I haven't solved this one yet. Today's WSJ, on the other hand... Well, I constructed it! And I'm pretty proud of it.

Ashore, a finger of scotch please. Tough go of it even though it was in my wheelhouse. Clever Mike Shenk puzzle.

Still aboard with Isaac, but he's glad to have some company. I found 66a funny, considering my situation.

Too much work and not enough living this weekend... so finally getting to my meta. I think I'm onto something, but having missed the Zoom, I am floundering. Line'em up, Isaac, it's going to be a bumpy ride!

On the ship with Isaac. Reading the comments, I can only assume my kids and I don't have the requisite knowledge base. We did the grid last night and tried a number of paths, all dead ends.

Wife and I are in our mountain* retreat and had a friend stay over last night so the 3 of us could hit the nearby slopes first thing this morning. Between last night's wine and our skiing today, I haven't had the brain power to come up with anything since last night. But hey, between Thursday night's snow and last night's snow, at least the skiing has been surprisingly good**.

*The "mountains" being referenced are the Poconos, so technically they qualify, though their advanced age means they have eroded to the point that some may disagree.
**Given the first footnote, this is a low bar to clear.

Congratulations!

And great work! I really enjoyed it.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

On shore looking for a double Dewars on the rocks. I would not be here without Don's patience. More to come!

Have a great weekend, Muggles.

Still on the boat. I’ve been grinding away on one theme and have my Hail Mary all set, but confidence in it is low, low, low.

Ashore though I'm not certain I'm on the right beach. Just happy to be on land.

What's a WAG? I'm assuming it's like a Hail Mary but when I Google WAG, I'm told it's sports jargon for wives and girlfriends! I doubt in the world of meta solving that's the meaning. ;)

Count me on the ship. I see a thing that may be part one, but it's not leading anywhere useful.

I wish I had a wheelhouse so I could go into it and solve the puzzle.

This is the most abstruse and complex mechanism ever. As has been said, it will be interesting to see it explained in a single concise paragraph at bottom right in Monday's puzzle.

If anyone wants a mild nudge that doesn't give too much away, send me a PM.

On shore but I don't feel I earned the right to say I'm on shore since I needed to be towed in. Clever mechanism, congrats to those who solo solved, I'm in awe.
