I think Joanne Sullivan constructed one last year, too, for Women’s History Month.

Enjoyed it!
Good memory

Joanne constructed "In The Hopper" on March 6 of last year

Struggled with the grid but was able to quickly solve the puzzle before completing the grid. A really nice construction!

I forgot what day it was yesterday. By the time I remembered I was too tired to solve the puzzle. I’m onshore with another look this morning. Nice puzzle.

As an aside unrelated to the specifics of this meta (or metas in general), I've been quite pleased with the puzzles I've gotten with my subscription to the all-female crossword service Inkubator. Feel free to check them out....

https://inkubatorcrosswords.com

Edit: And since it was only 20 minutes after I sent this that I figured out the meta and submitted, I'll just add in the "on shore" comment here. Not as obvious to me as it was to a bunch of you, but got a good A-ha! out of it after trying a half-dozen Shenk/Gaffney-isms to no avail....

Ashore! And my niece is now playing this week (and got the meta yesterday) after working with me last week. Fun!

Finally reached the beach. I missed an important aspect until this morning, so I made it harder than it was, but I would hardly call this easy. Guinness at 9:48 in the morning? Better wait an hour or so.

Ashore without too much effort. I suspect there may be a couple of rabbit holes for some fellow Muggles to find.

I am ashore! I approached it as if it would be terribly difficult after the February puzzles, but it wasn’t. Interesting mechanism. Cappuccino for me.

I finished the grid last night. The meta did not jump out at me the way it did for so many others. It’s pretty quiet in the bar but Isaac is whipping up a cappuccino for me. Maybe that will help me see the meta.
