A nice ride to rest safely on the shore. Another fun Gaffney. Having a Guinness IPA from their Baltimore Open Gate Brewery. On to cheering for a USMNT victory tonight and getting a step closer to the FIFA World Cup.

Buffalo Trace please!
That turned the trick: Mouth is full on tilt watering! Been too long since I've had the buffalo in the house.
I see you live in Ohio also. For some reason, OHLQ that controls liquor in Ohio has a DEARTH of Buffalo Trace even though it is made in Kentucky right next door!. It has been this way for at least 4 years. 3 years ago I went to Manitoba for my brother-in-laws 50th. I went to the liquor store in Steinbach Manitoba (that when I lived there in 2004 was a dry city?) and they had a huge shelf full of Buffalo Trace as well as a shelf of 50ml bottles. Where I live it comes available maybe every 7 or 8 weeks.
My favorite Kentucky liquor store is across the river, maybe a 10 minute drive. Your accusation against the OHLQ is 100% accurate. I wish you better luck. Cheers!

Toes in the sand!

After the last 3 late Sunday solves, this feels a bit weird.

Quick trip after a late start, in spite of imbibing a few bourbons while watching my opponents' brackets blow up. My bracket says Go Wildcats! But my heart says Go ABD!! (Anyone but Duke)

Late getting to this (family visiting), but came quickly. I’m thinking that starting my “celebration drink” (Michter’s small batch in this case) during the solve is the key! Count me ashore.

Y'all are just lucky you're not subject to the Virginia ABC. Haven't seen Buffalo Trace in a year. And right now I can't even get Woodford. But if Elijah Craig is the extent of my first world problems, I guess I shouldn't complain.

OK, that's better. Solved pretty quickly. I would have liked one more confirmatory piece but I'll go with this.

No celebratory Bourbon I'm afraid until after Easter, so I'll go for a nice glass of a good Old Vine Zin

So glad to be ONSHORE on Thursday because it’s going to be a busy weekend! I believe I mentioned a while ago that the education foundation board on which I serve is piloting a reading/mentoring program in two of our county’s elementary schools this year. The mentoring sessions are going well and now it is time to roll out phase two of our initiative. We are in the process of setting up “reading closets” at each school. Students are awarded book vouchers when they accomplish preset pleasure reading goals, then they can exchange their vouchers for books of their choosing from the reading closet. This will help the mentees to build their at-home libraries. Studies have shown that children who have books of their own enjoy reading more and read more frequently. Currently four board members (including yours truly) are hard at work sorting 3000 books which we purchased months ago and have just recently been delivered. We are putting color-coded stickers on each book to help students find books on their reading level. Monday and today were big work days, and we’ll be back at it on Saturday. Then the books have to be delivered to the schools and arranged on shelves before April 1. Wish us luck!
