Solved and ashore! Looking forward to enjoying the Harbour Town tournament this weekend.
Last weekend’s Masters was epic - best major sporting event in some time IMO. I’m not generally a big Rory fan, but I was right there with him the whole way.

Ashore.
The WSJ search page, which I use to find a downloadable PDF, changed format a couple of weeks ago and now you have to type in tomorrow's date in order to find the posted puzzle. It used to be that a search for "crossword puzzle" would show the puzzle as soon as it was posted. Is there a nice, fast, invariant URL that will show the puzzle once the Journal has posted it?
And, in passing, how does the Tour Director manage to create an Excel spreadsheet so quickly? And get it posted here? Must be magic or magical software, and I'm impressed, and I'd be interested in a three-sentence-or-so exposition on how it is accomplished behind the scenes.

Straight forward and direct except....
Remember me? I'm the guy who had never heard of the "green jacket" and who thought the masters tournament was held in Sept. in Augusta Maine. Can I run something by someone before I submit?

But I bet I know what the most common wrong answer will be.oldjudge wrote: Thu Apr 17, 2025 4:43 pm There is only one answer and there is no doubt if you have found it.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

On shore. Another fun solve to lead into the weekend. A nice crisp Italian while, a bit on the Mohs scale minimality, and time to work in the garden.

Ashore! Gin and tonic, thanks.

Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta!

Well apparently I have a wrong answer. Count me still with Isaac. I do have something, but not sure what to submit.

Very late start, but 8 min from starting the grid to solve. Fun one.
