Clever. Followed a rabbit trail to a dead end. Natasha picked up on the right path though and swam effortlessly to shore. Buffalo Bayou IPA for me.

Happily on shore. Took some thinking about, though. Perhaps a nice homemade basil-lime mead for a reward.

On shore.
(Failed miserably last week; solution seemed so obvious after seeing it.)

Touring around South Dakota and forgot all about the puzzle. Anyway, enjoyed this one when I got around to it!

Crowded shore this week.
Buffalo Trace please!
That turned the trick: Mouth is full on tilt watering! Been too long since I've had the buffalo in the house.

I see you live in Ohio also. For some reason, OHLQ that controls liquor in Ohio has a DEARTH of Buffalo Trace even though it is made in Kentucky right next door!. It has been this way for at least 4 years. 3 years ago I went to Manitoba for my brother-in-laws 50th. I went to the liquor store in Steinbach Manitoba (that when I lived there in 2004 was a dry city?) and they had a huge shelf full of Buffalo Trace as well as a shelf of 50ml bottles. Where I live it comes available maybe every 7 or 8 weeks.

In a perfect world, a contest crossword looking for a "body part" would be answered with "metacarpal" (or metatarsal?). But happy to be on dry land, in this not-perfect world...

Ashore. Last week I decoded the four work phrase, but then dropped the ball. This week, though I had to back solve a bit, I got it.
