OK, ashore but not submitting. I had a perfectly acceptable answer that was (1) derived from the GRID (2) Logical (3) 12 letters long (4) INCORRECT! I got thrown by a rather nefarious ruby colored fish which, once of the line, revealed what I should have seen (I'll post my solve sheet after the deadline) in the first place.

Ah well, obviously the relaxing shores of Lake Como, great food, great baked goods (bakery right down the road from our cottage) and wine did nothing for my solving ability. Maybe I just need more?

This was my morning walk to the bakery in the village - thank God it was a fairly steep walk back up or I would have needed the seatbelt extender for sure on the plane.

I've mentioned before that I'm a tour guide at my ancestral home, Primitive Hall. Imagine my delight at getting a text today from my tour group saying that they were en route and their GPS said they'd be there much earlier than expected: at exactly 4 p.m. on the dot.
But the tour went well and I'm on shore!

That looks beautiful, Doc! Sweet wife found $400 roundtrip tickets to Milan back in February and I really wanted to go. Driving up to Lake Como would almost certainly have been on the itinerary if we'd gone. It didn't work out but I've started trying to learn a little Italian just in case it comes up again.

Happy to solve one after last week's debacle (seems I've used that phrase before, along with other phrases like "curses Matt Gaffney"). It's sorta like Shenk takes pity on us mere Meta mortals who flail miserably at other non-Shenkian puzzles. I could say that it's like salve for a wound, but I also think he could be taking pity on us... Either way, happy to join all the revelers.

Ashore fairly easily, but in awe of the construction. A gentle swim after a brutal stretch; in the past 10 weeks I've only gotten 5 metas correct for a horrendous 50% run that pushed my overall 2022 average down to 74%. Hoping for a decent run to pull me back into B-minus territory.

Ashore. I've been in a real slump for the last two months and am thankful for an "easy" one. Something I've been wondering about: do you submit your answers in all capitals, like in the answers in the grid and in the announcements of the solutions? Or in lowercase, as is the custom when texting?
