You can blame the calendar, haha. I wanted to get my mini-meta out around the middle of the month, and I thought Mother's Day was going to be on May 15, which would've been perfect! But every day is Mother's Day as far as I'm concerned, so this will have to do.

The answer to the meta is my mom's first name.

I'll post both solutions shortly thereafter their corresponding deadlines, so you can still submit to #21 until time elapses!

Mikey G thought this was one was a Level 2, but Mikey G might have thought wrong, haha. Level 2 or 2.5, I'll say. Submit on Crosshare or PM!

The deadline is Tuesday, May 16 at noon EST

Leaderboard of Destiny:

Solved! Nice puzzle, Mikey.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

A delight to work (but not too hard since it's "my," as well as Mama G's, day) on this tribute!

A lovely MOM’s day tribute. And fun to solve.

Um.... what?

Usually I can see what I don't get but....

what?

Definitely not a 2.

EDIT: Oh, okay. I get it now. Cute.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

I think part of my thinking it leaned in the 2 direction was because of its smaller size; in fact, I now wonder what the smallest possible meta is that could be made, in theory!

Thanks! She got lots of flowers - but not a Cubs win. (Those Dodgers, man alive.)

Got it, although it took me way to long. I blame Week 5. Thanks, Mikey.

Nice mini meta, Mikey! Playing catch up after my vacay, but never too late to celebrate MOM, right? Thanks.

Of course not!

The answer to the meta: MARIANNE

The mechanism: The title "MOM" alludes to palindromes, and there are eight palindromic, 3-letter entries in the grid. Their middle letters spell MARIANNE.

May has been a busy month like usual, but I look forward for the Summer of Solves, which is coming soon!
