Celebrity Hound

Ahoy Muggles!

I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day yesterday. I'm sure you all agree that mothers are the MVPs and VIPs of most families, and they deserve our love and gratitude every single day of the year.

Speaking of VIPs, ever notice how some people are totally obsessed with celebrities? I mean, what is it about celebrities that drives some people absolutely crazy? According to one psychologist, “Humans are social creatures and we evolved — and still live in an environment where it pays to pay attention to the people at the top. Celebrity fascination may be an outgrowth of this tendency, nourished by the media and technology.” Whatever the reason, I hope this puzzle doesn't drive you crazy as you seek out the celebrity hidden within.

I'd like to thank @Abide, @Al Sisti, @boharr, @MarkWoychick, and @Joe Ross for their invaluable reviews and technical help!

The meta answer is a famous person.

Off the couch! Thanks, Rick!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Took me longer than I'd like to admit. And even then I had to google.

Cute one.

I was all set to rant about how meta's really need triggers and ... then I saw the trigger was there all along.

I just started working on the grid but a trivia question - where and under what circumstances did 19A originate (assuming that I got 19A correct).

I have to admit that I wasn't familiar with the origin, Bob, and I had to Google it. Do you have a story you'd like to share with us? Perhaps an appearance on "Dancing With the Stars" or something? Are you the "celebrity" that everyone is searching for in my grid?

Submitted and awaiting confirmation. Amazing how you can look and look and see nothing. Then whoopsie! There it is! (I think.)
