Ashore. Didnt think I'd make it, then I noticed something that made my half baked idea succeed after all.

Well there you go. You just don't have anything, until you have everything. One nice elegant touch to seal this one up too. Count me ashore...

I have been very limited in my time to devote to any of the metas lately. I am in the midst of moving my mom from her current home to a retirement community close to me (along with work).
So, I held no great expectations of solving this week’s Friday meta.
But, I’ll be darned if I didn’t get it!
Good to be on shore! 🏖

On Shore. Took a ton of time but amen at last!

When the mechanism finally came TO ME, I thought I'd leave a hopefully subtle bread crumb with my "On Shore" announcement...

I don't know if anyone else is planning a Last Call at Isaac's bar today. Between Mother's Day, the Padres game, and MST3K's premiere of "Beyond Atlantis" :D , I may not make it to the Zoom Room at 8 Eastern. But I thought I would start the conversation...

On shore. Wonderful construction. In April I solved only one puzzle, hoping this week's marks the beginning of a better month! Happy Mother's Day to all Muggle Mothers.

Never tried May wine. I have made dandelion wine (once…). Nowadays I prefer to buy Abita strawberry beer when in season made with Louisiana strawberries.

Still asea for me. Since finishing the grid on Thursday, lots of other things going on:

Thursday - Fiesta then Siesta
Friday - Trip to the Fort Worth Zoo then siesta.
Saturday - Daughter and SIL took us to the Dallas - Calgary playoff game, then long Siesta.
Sunday - Ongoing Mother's Day shenanigans with the kiddos. Whilst my wife takes her Siesta I took another look and found a first step, but that's as far as I've gone.
More visitors stopping by, so this will be either a last minute solve or another miss.

UPDATE:

I am on a beach. Submitted the solution I found and hope it's right - been a dry spell. All I can say is the solution I found is a chemical element (per Google search), arrived at using a reasonable mechanism. Whether it's the right mechanism, I'll soon find out! Too early still for another Siesta.

Good luck to all for a successful solve. If you see that I'm ashore - rare occasion of late - message me if you'd like a nudge. Be sure to include your progress so I can know better how to assist.

Oh my gosh. After looking and looking and looking all weekend, there it was. Just in time for Mother’s Day dinner with my two beautiful children! Phew.

Remember McArthur wading ashore in the Phillipines, jaw jutted forward, pipe tightly clenched, purposeful stride. Just like me this evening, except I came tumbling in unconscious on the surf, stranded on the reef when the tide went out, and the pipe is in six fathoms.

But I am finally ashore.

I'll have a Heimlich.
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.
