I have the corrected PDF but do not know how to post it here.HunterX wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 2:10 pmI got one of Matt's free 3-month trials. Is there a link there?SJMcK wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 2:05 pmMatt has posted a corrected PDF to the Patreon.HunterX wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 2:02 pm I'm with @Joe Ross with the four letter words I'm spouting at the PDF. I saw Matt's email, and then realized there were more. But it's still frustrating.
Is there a way someone with the PUZ file could create an accurate list of clues? I'm almost done the grid, but wouldn't mind seeing the correct clue numbering.
Also: Solved it!
Edit: While I am curious to know how to get there/it, I have at least figured out all the clue-switches and finished the grid.

Oh, I didn’t know there was any way to get puzzles outside of the Patreon. Email Matt, I guess. The corrected PDF exists, so he should be able to send you it.HunterX wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 2:10 pmI got one of Matt's free 3-month trials. I had an interesting grid solve with the original pdf. It was challenging, but fun. However, I spent the next hour plus trying to find a four letter word to describe what I had done. Then when I found out that the first pdf was full of unintended clue shifts I came up with plenty of four letter words, none of which I submitted.

I completed the original PDF, and figured the transposed clues were part of the meta. I was really racking my brain to figure out the logic behind it.
Fortunately, the follow-up email came out. The actual solve turned out to be very enjoyable.

I almost always use the PDF for week 3 & 4 metas. Just happened to be sitting at my computer when the email came today, so decided to go ahead and try it with the .puz. Sounds like I lucked out!
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

I have it on good authority that Matt will award a Linzer Torte to one of the solvers this week. (and if you believe that I have a bridge to sell you)

Thanks for the heads up! For some reason, that email from Matt went into my spam folder. (Even though his emails don't usually.)
I'm checking the clues now. But it looks as if I had correctly identified the switcheroos.

Beamed up. Great debut, Andrew!
Like others, I benefited from a late-ish start and thankfully missed the clue-shifting imbroglio.
Hope this isn’t too soon but….paging Dr. Rick: “We’re going to open a pdf. Who’s next?”

Exactly, you should see my Kitchen island, it looks like I was making paper dolls....the scary thing is that I was working on how that would be the solve.....Wendy Walker wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 1:23 pm Yeah, I just saw Matt's update -- back to square 1 for me because I thought the multiple clue mix-ups were part of the metanism!
You all know my twisted mind, left along for a few more hours I'd have come up with the neat, plausible and wrong triad. Let me try this again and stop cursing the evil genius that could have made a Meta out of the first thing I tried.

Submitted just now - not on the board yet, but it’s a no-doubter once you get it.
Well done Andrew, from a fellow-ex-burgher!

Beamed up at #99! So glad to get one - it's been a little while. A really great puzzle, and a debut meta no less!
No way Andrew is 27 - he looks like he's in high school!

Yeah, that was cool
Now to try to solve again with original grid
