When you're a monk and copy outvandono wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 2:24 pm The grid was a ton of fun but I still sit here searching for the meta word. It reminds me of a poem I recently read in a book my oldest daughter bought me for Christmas, and it was written by a 9th-Century Irish scribal scholar in the margins of a manuscript he was copying - which fits the title of today's Meta. So there with a Latin commentary on Virgil and a list of Greek paradigms he penned this:
I and Pangur Ban my cat,
'Tis a like task we are at:
Hunting mice is his delight,
Hunting words I sit all night.

Manuscripts all day without
A fifteen-minute coffee break
The mind can wander. It may take
You back to your warm Irish house
And idle games of cat and mouse.
You're just another bored scribe that
Pens doggerel about a cat.
But ask yourself, wouldn't it be better
To puzzle out madhatter's meta?
