Episode #330 Contest: MY REPUTATION PRECEDES ME
Fun puzzle by Brian. I am a big fan of Blacklist and I never realized that Brian’s sister appeared in it. Hats off to her and to Brian for this wonderful job!

Wow, you got here to the Muggle forum in a hurry, and beat me to the post!
So yes, there's a new contest puzzle from Fill Me In. I'll rate this one 1.7 bananas on a scale of 5 bananas. (Bananas has nothing to do with the puzzle, it's just a 1-to-5 scale we made up.)
The puzzle is called "My Reputation Precedes Me" and was constructed by me (Brian Cimmet). The solution to the puzzle is a 9-letter word.
The crossword can be downloaded from here. You're welcome to solve, you're even welcome to join in the chat about the puzzle -- but if you want to be eligible for a prize, you have to listen to the podcast for this week's password. The podcast can be found on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, our own website, or wherever you collect your podcasts.
Once you've solved the puzzle, submit your answer and this week's password by email to fmi@bemoresmarter.com. You can also contact us with any suggestions, questions, comments, or ideas. Thanks for playing along!

I've peeled the banana but haven't even started listening to the podcast yet. Hopefully this afternoon will get to it
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Banana peeled!
Sadly, I’ve never listened to Brian’s podcast, and given how I’ve recently overloaded my life (with things mostly trivial), I probably won’t for a while. But I googled Alison Cimmet, and was impressed. Then googled Brian C., and was wowed again. Such accomplished people! This forum continues to astound me.

Got this one peeled rather quickly. Another FMI fun meta... no idea why this one attracts so little activity in here compared to other metas, especially with the consistent high quality of the puzzles.

Hello solvers,
The solution to this contest was NOTORIETY.
The extraction method is hinted at by the title, "My Reputation Precedes Me." There were nine entries in the grid that contained ME, and the individual letters that preceded ME, in order from top to bottom, spelled NOTORIETY.
