Grid done but waiting for the AHA lightning to strike on the meta. I’d really like to make this my fifth solve week in a row, but I don’t plan on standing under any trees 🌴🌲 in the rain 😁.

Ashore after participating in todays zoom session. I enjoyed this one because after one comment that got me on the right track I got the meta and worked it out. And it was good to hear other thoughts on possible paths. I’ve been solving since last September and finally feel like I’m making progress.

On the shore without any nudges. To quote Catherine Willows on CSI, I feel like King Kong on cocaine! Phew! What a rush when you get the mechanism and hunt down the answer. Cheers!

If you see I'm ashore and need a nudge, feel free to message me.

Don't give up just yet!

I usually find it helpful to go through the process of completing the grid a 2nd time.

Best of luck, hope to see you ashore....

Finally ashore and the electricity came back on a few hours ago after being out for 22 hours! We southerners cannot handle frigid temperatures and ice storms.

It took me a while after figuring out the mechanism to solve it.

Well played. I got this cassette (along with other classics from Chicago, Weird Al Yankovic, Huey Lewis and the News, and Asia) one Xmas when I was 11 or 12.
After I made the joke, I saw that @JimJim had made it on Page 2 well before I did, but more subtly.

Ashore, enjoying the thoughts of a warm sun and a cool beverage before sub-freezing temps again tonight.

Lost at sea with Isaac - which is comforting since we have grown quite close over the last few months

Oh my goodness. I “aha’ed” about 5 minutes ago. No lightning in sight. Just a beautiful moonlit night on the shore. Cabana boy has turned in so I’ll just have a cuppa. Prince of Wales black tea with a spot of cream, please!

On shore thanks to the lovely folks on Zoom. (Any other introvert newbies who might be nervous about joining, don’t be! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming.) Picked up a few meta-solving tips and tricks too. Happy weekend!

Got caught in a wave created by a solver's redacted post, which shared too many details, and find myself ashore.

I'll stick to coffee, for medicinal purposes, but black, as I don't deserve better.

Fine.

As I slowly improve my solving ability, the words of the British Art Teacher, John Ruskin, come to mind. He would famously tell his students, "I am not here to teach you to draw, I am here to teach you to see."
Sincere thanks to all my muggle friends who are teaching me to see!

@patpatchica Those of us in the north don't like ice storms any better than our friends from Tennessee.

Stay warm and hope spring comes soon
