Was playing outside in the snow with my little one at noon - since I couldn't hope for the top 10, I figured I would try downs-only / no instructions.
Verdicts:
Downs-only: Just not my favorite way of solving a puzzle. Even though I know it is a good way of getting faster. Generally managed other than one corner, though.
No instructions: Pretty straightforward. Saw where this was going without the instructions pretty early on in the solve.
All in all, lucky #77 on the board. And now back to work / snow day.

My name is in the grid! My son asked Matt to do that, as an early birthday gift. I'm floored.

The numbers sum to 80. If that's you, congratulations.

I like that Matt is offering different ways to tackle week 1s now. I did this down only, and it was a bit more challenging than I thought it would be, but I'm on the board. I wonder how he would figure stats for no instructions, down only, and combined no/only.

Downs only, no instructions. But now, do I go with what I'm almost certain is the answer, or check the prompt and avoid any risk of losing my "50"? Decisions, decisions.

I checked the prompt myself. The challenge was in getting an answer in the first place.Bird Lives wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 1:37 pm Downs only, no instructions. Once there, no harm in making sure before submitting.

You go out to run a few errands, come back two hours later, get the meta solved ... and you're #223 on the board.
Yep, must be a Week #1.
