Brand new here but I have been reading your forum for about two weeks. I believe I got this one and can say that I am safely ashore.

As a tortured NU fan, I can't see any reason why they wouldn't, even if they do come out flat. I'm expecting something similar to the 2010 70-23 result. At least I'll be watching from home this weekend, and not at Camp Randall, no matter how awesome of a place Madison is on game day.
The Badgers have both of their starting safeties suspended for the first half, so I would think NU will come out throwing early and often.

Even without a meta this is a solid crossword --- for me it was bit more challenging than the meta itself. I believe I'm safely ashore after missing the last two --- I was never going to get MARIE KONDO (I never heard of her) so that one doesn't bother me. PINT, however, still irritates me because the path to it was hiding in plain sight.

I went to that big ten school without a football team in Urbana.
If you like Rows Gardens check out my mini ones here: viewforum.php?f=41. Nudges are free on the off chance I’ve solved the meta.

That might help keep it interesting for the first half, but it'll take a lot more than 2 of the starting defensive players to be out to salvage the 128th ranked (pts/g) FBS offense.

Done and Submitted, although admittedly only 60% sure, 40% guess.
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Ashore. I enjoyed this one. I also liked the puzzle design, but I won't say more about that until after 11:59pm Sunday.

He he... Jim and I recall cheering "go clock" when we attended NU games in our college days.
My son marches in his high school marching band, and sometimes the highlight of the game is when the score differential is 40+ and it becomes a running clock.

I started doing these Crossword Contests in January of this year. At first I only got the solution sometimes. Starting with the first one in April, I haven't been lost at sea. As this is the final puzzle of September, it makes 6 months in a row. I'm considering subscribing to MGWCC or trying PGWCC for more of a challenge.
Our daughter is BS (Tepper) '12 so nice to see it as well!

I’m claiming a spot on the shore. I’m pretty sure I have it, but felt it needed a nudge.

No solution yet ... but I'll proudly share my 10A love on behalf of my son, a 2014 School of Drama grad. Now, back to this pesky meta!
