I started doing these Crossword Contests in January of this year. At first I only got the solution sometimes. Starting with the first one in April, I haven't been lost at sea. As this is the final puzzle of September, it makes 6 months in a row. I'm considering subscribing to MGWCC or trying PGWCC for more of a challenge.
I have you as 24 for 24 since you started posting.

I got step one, and then . . . As Lieber and Stoller wrote (and Peggy Lee sang) is that all there is?

I started at the end of March. Didn't get that one, but have also consistently made it to shore starting in April. I highly recommend subscribing to Matt's. I joined in April, and won one his drawings just a few weeks in. And the PGWCC is free and so good! The grids are tough, but the metas are always interesting. I started doing his in March, too. Again, didn't get the March ones, but have consistently gotten them since, though I needed hints a few times. This week might actually be my streak-ender, but I have the weekend ahead of me. Going to put my family to work.

Done and Done. To me, the grid seemed a lot tougher than the meta. Oh well, more time for football this weekend. I hope my Badgers can keep up their winning ways on Saturday.

I believe that I am ashore... it's too hot down here for a scotch, so I will request a Guinness, please.

As a tortured NU fan, I can't see any reason why they wouldn't, even if they do come out flat. I'm expecting something similar to the 2010 70-23 result. At least I'll be watching from home this weekend, and not at Camp Randall, no matter how awesome of a place Madison is on game day.

Thank you Matt for the shout-out in the grid.

I have an answer, but it seems too squeezy. As in a bowl game.

Isaac, I'll have some Sav. Blanc with my sushi this evening. I will sleep on this and see if I can detect the evil third step.

We were washed ashore on a gentle breeze and are enjoying the sunset from the beach. Happy weekend all!

He he... Jim and I recall cheering "go clock" when we attended NU games in our college days.
