Lost at Sea. Tired from family wedding this weekend. Could use a slight nudge. Thanks!

Edit: I think I got step one. LOL

On the beach with a little help from my friends, Al, boharr and Wendy.
Some parts of the mechanism had occurred to me, but I didn't pursue them.
Perhaps, my subconscious was trying to steer me in the right direction, but curious conscious mind kept wanting to explore new possibilities.
Curiosity is a difficult thing to control. Its alleged that it killed the cat.

Caught a late tender to shore.

Too late for a cocktail. Just a soda water to quench the thirst from chasing so many rabbits.

I couldn't get anywhere past the first step on this one. I got BOR, SOURD, TH (or possibly ALTH), and C, but couldn't figure out what to do with them.

I was very irritated by Nosh spot->Deli->Trough not being a thing. But otherwise I was a fan.

I got stuck there too, but the clue about "8 Scrabble 1 pointers" = O TILE made me think I was looking for 8 across answers, and once I remembered Richard Attenborough for Gandhi (1A) it was pretty close (ABS__AC_) already.

I think I'm leaving the bar area. I would need to drop acid before I could even hope to come up with such a convoluted solution. Good luck to all. And may the nudges be with you... Goodbye...

The Attenborough alternate messed with me for a while - I knew it should start with "A", but was stuck on an alternate for "HALO".

arorough? aurough?

Google saved the day. RIP mad gene splicer Richard Attenborough.

I used the symmetry with the bottom right ACROSS to determine that FORMAN was the one. (Also, FUMAR and OTILE were kind of bizarre and made me think that FORMAN might be vital to the meta.)

Nope. At least I didn't spend a lot of time with it. I was looking for "ough"s for a while, I thought of "tough" and "rough", but the others were a Triborough Bridge too far. A humble bow to those who got this one.
