Yeah, but after I missed it three weeks in a row I was eager to get my game back and hoping I'd solve the next few to get my esteem back up but... when they are this easy.... oh, well. Shouldn't complain, I guess. I did get back to solving them....
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

I started late but am easily onshore.

The only thing I remember from math is a proof that some part of the fastest train in the world is constantly moving backwards. (The solution has to do with the edge of the wheels extending over the track, which of course keeps the train from falling off the track.)

I remember a discussion in the college cafeteria about the value of a “math background” (we meant 😅 up to calc in HS!) in other majors. Those of us with a math background said no question it was valuable to whatever we were then studying. Those who didn’t made their predictable protestations to the contrary.

Saw a t shirt today that said “Another day that I didn’t use calculus”. I thought that was a pretty accurate statement for all of us that took that course and never pursued a career that required the application of some of our math learnings.

The title scared me as someone whose math skills were always limited and now, with a calculator on my phone, mostly forgotten. Fortunately some ancient places in my brain woke up and even though they immediately went back to sleep about what they meant, it was an easy solve with only having to count to six (easy: use your fingers.)
