One on each side. But as HunterX says, some have a completely blank side. Besides the one he mentions, Johnny Winter's second album "Second Winter" was a double album, but side 2 of the second album was completely blank.

Just listened to "It's a Gas." I don't know if I should be impressed or depressed that I remember it to the "note."C=64 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 3:01 amHaha! Found it: https://www.zeroto180.org/mad-mags-mult ... flexidisc/

So, my prediction back on page 2 that since many were dubbing this an 'easy one' (as opposed to 'wow, that's clever!' or 'how could he possible have constructed that!?!') meant I was doomed to a weekend of head-scratching turned out to be true Never did solve it.
I went down the rabbit hole of trying to find words in the grid that corresponded to the long answers somehow (spurred by HIGH SPEED / MACH). Another was the idea that the 'case' for the DIAMOND consisted of the D's, so the remaining five cross words might provide places to look elsewhere in the grid. A third were that some answers in the grid had two words, one of which was a single letter (I VOTED, SMALL I, PRE K, A JIFF). And there were others. I never came close to looking for hope diamonds in the grid - which DOES seem easy in retrospect!
The weekend wasn't a total loss, though. Thanks to the meta from a couple of weeks ago, I acquired an N.K. Jemisin novel Friday night and have been IMMEDIATELY sucked in. That'll keep me happy for a while.

Where can I find the meta answer? I have no idea how to go about solving this. Would someone mind walking me through it?

The answer is posted here at Midnight on Mondays viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1134&start=320#p64638cremebrulee wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 12:06 am Where can I find the meta answer? I have no idea how to go about solving this. Would someone mind walking me through it?
And in print on the Monday puzzle.
Just because it's intimidating, is no reason to be intimidated.

Thank you, so posters will discuss it usually after Sunday? There are a lot of pages to sift through. "Jewel Case" was my first attempt at solving a Friday puzzle. I've read the tips on how to approach solving the meta, and one tip suggested studying old puzzles and working backward. I worked through the four-part series of Contest Crosswords 101. That was very useful--it felt too intimidating to try before.

Also, when is something not considered a spoiler anymore...after Sunday?

It's simple.
The puzzle comes out Thurs at 4 pm Eastern Time. It's an active contest and any discussion of it is strictly forbidden.
The contests ends and the answer is given Sunday at midnight Eastern time. Once the contest is over .... its over.

Yup. After midnight when the answer is posted. And it's almost always posted very, very quickly. (Or the time stamp is changed. I'm asleep when it's posted.) So if you see the answer posted, you can post all the spoilers you want!cremebrulee wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 11:49 am Also, when is something not considered a spoiler anymore...after Sunday?
