Onshore. I got a late start but solving the grid took much longer than finding this “well-known” song.

Ashore with my Pinot Grigio.

I’m not all that aware of #1 songs from the 2000s, so I’m glad he made it easy to spell.

Looking through a list of #1 songs of the 2000's, I do not know any of them.
I may have heard one or two, but don’t recall most of them. I had a chuckle at some of the titles.

I have heard of this song, but I much prefer a different song from a different decade with the same name. At first I thought that Mike made a mistake, but then I realized the mistake was mine. The song I had in mind is less famous of course, but was played on the radio stations I listen to.
Made me look it up. Never heard of either one of them. :-)

Not to start a digression, what with the blizzard arriving on shore, but . . . was that a typo or is it a locution common in some are where you have been? I've only seen it in English crime fiction set in Yorkshire (if I remember correctly). There have been enjoyable digressions in this forum about dialect, such as Philadelphian or Bostonian, but. Asking here about the trailing but, but.

nah brah - it’s a rural thing! it means its in your area of expertise. I only learned it recently too. a wheel house is a thing on farms. or riverboats. or something.

oh whoops you were asking about the but. yo no se.

For the most part though, I'm sticking with the classic entertainment in the ship's lounge --

Grid, done.
Meta…eluding me.

Of course, saying it’s a “#1 Song” is different than saying it’s a *famous* song…

Ashore. Back in the country now after a month in Russia, and I must say that in general, this is much easier with access to a printer. I was a little preoccupied then, but Google confirmed I have the right handle.
