On Shore! I've had the mechanism since Thursday night. That gibberish rabbit hole was just too inviting; so comfy in there I couldn't make myself climb out. At last I surfaced for air and everything became clear!

Finally ashore. Spent far too much time in bar with Isaac, finding neither the grid nor the meta to be easy. It's very satisfying when you figure it out! Good luck Muggles. Chardonnay tonight!

I'm on the boat and don't expect to be leaving anytime soon, I've tried three routes that returned gibberish, sigh.

Actually it’s the Baltic Lord with cargo of frozen fish as seen from our rental cottage on Passamaquoddy Bay in Eastport this week.
Did you see Pete's Dragon?

Finally on shore after being towed most of the way by a fellow solver. Thanks, Sara. Will not submit, but happy to be on the beach with the gang.

I see a few things but still LAS. 🛳

update: I see a few more things....

update 2: just finished the second part of the meta class. it’s really terrific for us newbies, I must say. Very user friendly, entertaining and enlightening! A lot of thought obviously went into it.

Good Saturday morning muggles
An interesting challenge by Mr. Shenk which has come easy for some and challenging for others. We have 13 on the ship with Isaac and 126 on the shore.

And we have a gaggle of new muggles - jdp, benchen71, hedswen, and sfed. Always great to have more muggles as we are closing in on the round number of 1,000.

Let me know if I missed anyone because this week I was a bit kerfuffled (using my wife's Troy NY definition).

And I was late for yesterday's posting because I was kayaking and saw this handsome gentleman

As for the meta, well, still working on it…hoping this post will bring good karma.

On the shore without any problems, one of the easiest metas this year (but simplicity can still be elegant). To the ones still stuck with Isaac: walk away from it for 1 or 2 hrs, then pay close attention to the clue in front of you and you will join the party in less than 5 minutes.

Sat down with it again today with fresh eyes, and it came to me pretty quickly. This happens more often for me with Shenk puzzles than Gaffney puzzles, for some reason.

It’s only a week 4. I’m sure YOU will be fine.
I appreciate the vote of confidence :). As it turns out, it was a subject I had familiarity with, and needed only the tiniest of nudges to the finish line.

Long Lake is a great place to vacation. We camped there many times

Hope the weather holds
Today is the nicest day of the week, my first float in the lake, and second lap of the lake on my Bike Friday. I've also ridden around Moose Pond, Brandy Pond, and most of Highland Lake. Part of my family has a cottage here...
