Thanks to a tip from Hector, I used a spreadsheet. Without Excel, I would be sinking deeper and deeper into the couch.

Dang, I had some direct hints from the hatter himself today and still have very little.
There should be links to two versions of these --Hector and Mortal.

I'm using a spreadsheet to gather info based on step 1. But I still haven't figured out step 2. Every method/combo I try turns up gibberish.Bird Lives wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 11:42 pm Thanks to a tip from Hector, I used a spreadsheet. I probably should clarify that, while I did use a spreadsheet, I think that was partly why I was stuck in HunterX's situation for a long time. It might have been better to scribble on a pdf or two or three.

Hmmm... Perhaps scribbles will work if you know the correct path. My spreadsheet is full of lots of attempts at a step 2, none of which are bearing fruit. Sounds as if I need to ignore it for awhile. My brain needs to find a different route on it's own, I guess.

Looks like I'm not the only one who has entered gobs of information into a spreadsheet. Tried sorting it many different ways, getting gibberish. Went back to make sure my data was (were, if we're being pedantic) correct and found a few mistakes. Fixed those, re-sorted, and still getting gibberish.
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

Wow. That is a lot of data to interpret.
I wish I didn’t have a full time job. Will reevaluate after nudge Wednesday.

Stealing this from someone (it's probably decades old):

Bahaha.
My bandwidth is low this week, and I'm pretty sure I need something I don't have, but I still don't see how that connects to what's in the grid, so I don't know. I feel this has a great payoff, but I think I'll need a Wednesday hint, for sure!

Solved. But not without a hint from Bird Lives, who gave a hint similar to one of the nudges. Not sure I would have gotten it without it!
And DEFINITELY wouldn't have gotten it without Excel!

Absolutely needed the nudges from a kind fellow muggle - even then was approaching things from the wrong origin....finally got it. Like others, had to use an excel sheet to sort and keep track of everything!

Got it! I had the right idea but the wrong perspective.

I don't have it and it's making me *very* cranky.....
Just because it's intimidating, is no reason to be intimidated.

I am so lost that the spoilers do not even help. I cannot even get step one. I guess I will wait for the reveal.
