The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

On the edge of my seat, in launch position (read: "Submitted, awaiting confirmation...").
Edit: Confirmed, OTC. Excellent puzzle and some outstanding clues... Abide abides!

Got the grid and am working on the meta while we get more rain and my Monday golf league is cancelled.
I liked a bunch of the clues (I don't think these are spoilers) 1A, 33A, 59A, 68A, 3D (sop to some of us), 11D (for us old folks), 30D and 54D (says something about both of us) - much less Googling than you scared me with in your warning.

@Al Sisti, can you please post your email as proof? I highly doubt you solved the grid and the meta in 1 hour and 11 minutes. The grid maybe, if you knew all the answers ahead of time. But the grid and the meta? Never!

For those of us who like to use the puz file, thank you for including the prompt on it.

Hilarious! Fun puzzle, Peter! LOL'd at 54D.
EDIT: Confirmed! On the second try. Not unlike my driver's test.

I believe the warning has to do with the meta, which definitely was entirely reliant on internet searching for me.Bob cruise director wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 9:14 am much less Googling than you scared me with in your warning.

I have departed the davenport. Fortunately, I got some help from @boharr, which I certainly appreciated. Lovely grid Peter, who likes messing with this solver's mind.

Oh, c'mon, I'm sure it took him that long because he forgot to submit before he walked down the block for lunch!
[Edit, so I don't waste a reply spot] Submitted!
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

This is my first one of these! I am Off the Couch as well. I don't know the origin of that phrase, but I'm happy to use it.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.
