Marion and I are safely ashore.............I was staring at the Sonar while she landed the boat. I was in full support mode when she hit the beach. Good captaining again!

Luck to all.

In the ALPS or on ELBA
there‘s LOVE and IRE
In ESSEN, I‘m guessin‘
NEIN, there‘s WESSON.

„CAFE AU LAIT? It‘s ETE.
Have some BRIE, chere AMIE,
OUI?“ he LEERed.
She made EYES, did ARISE
„NON! I prefer GOUDA and EDAM,“
she LIED, very SLY,
and ENDed IT.

ALAS, said the EMIR on VOYAGE to ACCRA
Full of WOE
„I should have taken the LLAMA“
said the SULTAN, „I know.
would have been more ECO.“

Still with Isaac. I have step one, but haven't gotten beyond that. Will sleep on it and hope for enlightenment upon awakening.

Ashore.

And back from the 6-day Grand Canyon river trip, which was awesome. Did last week's puzzle after my return without looking at any comments, and solved within 24 hours, so my streak continues. Daughter did the puzzle with their partner, so they also count as continuing the team's streak. And here is just one of my more than 700 photos, because I just can't resist...

Quick solve this week, inspired by Matt's Q&A. It was lovely to see everyone as well!

Drove 15 minutes home and it came to me in the car!

On shore! I'll have a Maine Mule!
Solving while on the road is considered to be a solve "off the grid" and earns bonus points :D

Clean the house for the holiday or do the puzzle?
I compromised. I completed the grid. However, the meta did not come easily so off I went to clean the house.
Isaac will probably have my company this holiday weekend. In anticipation of this, I have brought sparklers and my own bottle of bourbon to the bar. 🇺🇸 A happy and safe 4th to you all!

It's like I was thrashing in the surf since Thursday and only realized this morning that the water was only up to my knees.

I'm on the beach now!

Omigod FINALLY. I tried every single last thing to get to the answer, but the solution at last revealed itself. So frustrating, but I'm so happy to be on shore!
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.
