Still on the boat after a busy weekend. Seeing many paths as I sit down to work the meta.

again, beamed up and instead of landing on beach, materialized at the bar with Isaac. Have a promising path that looks like there's a light somewhere at the end of the rabbit hole....

I think I finally solved it. Not completely, but I can deduce what the answer should be.... unless this is just a nasty rabbit hole
Edit: I just pieced it together!!!!!

Still floundering on this one. The state thing seems obvious from the grid, but where to go next ???

Just started after 3 days of partying at my daughter's college graduation. I will have La Croix if I get on the beach but so far big fog, just like my mind. Will take some time for my brain to replace the lost gray matter cells...
Update - I am going to borrow Roberto Duran plea to Sugar Ray Leonard: no mas, I am going to let this one go. I have the pieces to solve but I can't stitch them together. You got me again Matt. Current score: Matt Gaffney 102 - Flying_Burrito 4

Consider yourself lucky. I'm approaching the "you can't lose what you don't have" point.Flying_Burrito wrote: Sun May 23, 2021 2:13 pm Will take some time for my brain to replace the lost gray matter cells...

Grid done, pretty sure I've got the starter pieces but I need a nudge to put them together!

Finally made it ashore. This was a struggle, but the difficulty was just right. This meta illustrates for me that aspiring solvers, not puzzle constructors, create the rabbit holes they plunge into. However, as in this case for me at least, the constructor can incorporate lots of inspiration (nudges?) for such imaginary pursuits. Matt made this a very satisfying meta with the traps and dead ends he helped me create and experience.

Nudge masters, I think I need one.
Update: nudger had been found, thanks.
And update: I have a solution. Thanks for the help all.

I’ve got lots of pieces but I’ll take a nudge if anyone’s willing! Thanks in advance!

Oh well. Still with Isaac. As I predicted, the loss of our daughter to overseas job has crashed our streak.

ashore
due to a well placed 2x4 to the head that I was actually staring at the answer.

Ashore, finally, thanks to a friendly nudge from Dr. Tom. I had half the mechanism, but was down a verrrry deep rabbit hole as to the rest. Won't submit, but glad to be on the beach. Beer me!

Ashore thanks to a couple of nudges. I look forward to the Friday puzzle every week now. I’m so glad I found this message board - what a friendly and helpful group. I’m hooked and have enjoyed - albeit frustratingly at times - learning the different meta mechanisms. Thanks to the nudgers who helped this newbie out.
