I had the meta before I finished the grid, mainly because I'd never heard of the 18D movie, 30A band, or 33A movie and was totally stuck with the two blank squares where they cross.

I don't mind using google (within reason) to solve a meta, and I always google to verify everything in the grid of a meta puzzle anyway. But I don't love needing it just get the grid completed.

Got it! On shore. Grid wasn't too tough. Meta came quickly. One piece was slightly unsatisfying.
