You're going to the Welbutrin once too often. Besides, anxiety ain't depression.DrTom wrote: โWed May 19, 2021 12:16 pmOr LITHOGRAPH LITHIUM, PROCREATE PROZAC, DUPLICATE DULOXETINE, SYNTHESIZE CYMBALTA....the list is long, but not depressing!Bird Lives wrote: โWed May 19, 2021 7:44 am
When I saw the clue for 17A ("Make a copy of antianxiety medication?") I thought it was going to be CLONEOPIN.

Valium gonna tell you that is why I used only drugs that also have anxiolytic capabilities (well except for lithium which has backed into that so it is not a polar opposite)Bird Lives wrote: โWed May 19, 2021 1:07 pmYou're going to the Welbutrin once too often. NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

I feel dense for taking so long to get this one, but Iโm relieved to finally say that THE CAT HAS ESCAPED THE PAPER OR PLASTIC!! The answer came in a flash.
Yes, probably a โkittenโ, but from my experience, the kind that can still confound for a while.
Did anyone else struggle with it?

The cat, I do believe, is out of the box and perhaps sharing a career "trajectory" with 35D.
Fun puzzle!

Strong effort Josh; felt WSJ-worthy...

The cat is on the prowl. Challenging fill. Needed an easy meta. This was properly classified.

I took the circuitous route.
At first it tried to claw its way out.
Only after that did I manage to let the cat out of the bag.
Thanks for the puzzle!

That is only half the solution! I mean you may have Created the puzzle, so what do you know? You even got 61A wrong (or should I say wring?)
But as a solver it was not as you colored it:
[X]erox[X]anax, [P]lump[P]arsnip etc that gave me the answer, but rather
[X]ero[X][X]ana[X], [P]lum[P][P]arsni[P], etc
but besides that, good fun was had by all

Didn't get to this puzzle until last night. Challenging grid, but despite early appearance, it proved to be quite solvable, especially once I got the hang of the theme words. Enjoyed many of the clues.
Having been alerted to the kitten ranking, I immediately looked at the five first letters, and thought of expedience or its variants, hiccuped a bit on the mechanism until I started to sound out the letters and realized that worked. Nice break after a dismal week-plus of meta failures
