Table Talk
It's MONDAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!! (Well, nearly Monday - - had to post Sunday night as I'm leaving very early in the a.m.) Time for some MMM!!!!!
I had the next chapter of Encyclopedia Brown all ready to go when . . . . . . uh, yeah, no I didn't. Madhatter operates on a different level! BUT, we do get to do some Trash, er, Table Talk.
I'm not handicapping this as I have a disability in that area (a Dr. Tom-ish statement), but all I will say is that it's not a Week 1. I know some of you wanted to get away from sports themes and into knitting - - I achieved half of your wish.
PM me with your answers. I may not get back immediately as I will be travelling this week, but I generally find a way to check in a few times a day (but not until later in the day on Monday).
As is the custom, I will post a nudge or two on Wednesday, a few leaderboards along the way, and the "reveal" on Saturday evening.
The title of this puzzle is Table Talk, and the prompt is "something that always gets things going at the table".
Happy solving!

Very nicely done. Happy to be off the couch ... even if it means moving to the office.

Leaped off the settee! Some interesting grid entries, like 52A. Thanks for the Monday fun.

Awaiting confirmation, but pretty sure I have set the settee free
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Off the couch!
Awaiting confirmation, but very confident.
Good one!
Agree: A Week 2, or maybe just very slightly harder.

Off the couch but waiting confirmation. Very clever puzzle.
Lost an hour because I can't read my own writing.
