Finally had time to look at this. Ashore, wearing a coincidentally proper shirt.

I love it when I see them quickly! Took me longer to solve the grid than the meta. Count me on the beach this week! I'm at Lake of the Ozarks so will have plenty of celebratory drinks this weekend :)

Ashore! It took me awhile to get my eyes focused correctly.

Good muggle morning everyone.

The tenders have been busy since yesterday as we have 5 on the ship and 119 on the shore.

good luck to all = probably long odds for the mug

and for the MGWCC solvers - good luck on week 5

I wonder if I followed you into that same rabbit hole yesterday afternoon, after completing the challenging grid. Had to sleep on it, then the correct answer was in plain sight (with one minor hiccup that I was able to correct quickly)
Happy to be on shore now; can relax and focus on better things like golf for the weekend.

Made it to shore without much difficulty (except the pretty challenging grid). I would like to thank my husband and my 19 and 21-year old kids who talk sports on the dinner table ad nauseam until I drift off into my plate of food. Some information did manage to penetrate my brain.

I propose a new rule for Mike Shenk and other puzzlemeisters: No TV/movie people or titles are allowed to cross. Can I get an "Amen!"

We have 4D, 26A, 29D, and 31A making a big hole right in the middle of the grid, so I can't get 37A, one of the theme answers.

>8^(

Update. Ok, I googled them, and well that I did: never in life have I seen or heard the word at 37A.

And the meta? I sure hope I don't need to know anything about backcourt fundamentals to get this. Those rank right up there with movies, TV, and 37A in my vast store of ignorance.

Mark me adrift, Cruise Director.

For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Ashore! Great seeing folks on Tuesday. Fun group and very welcoming. Still struggling w/ the MEOW puzzle this week.

After hearing some of the discussion Tuesday, I was tempted to post yesterday at 4:01, 4:10, and 4:15 asking for nudges and taking up valuable page 1 real estate. :D

This comment would have been a minor spoiler for last week's puzzle.

Sitting on the beach early (not actually though - stuck inside with deadlines today).

Have a great weekend!

Hanging with Isaac in my usual chair.

Heartened by all the comments that I'm overthinking the complexity of this thing (like somehow that's S-O-O-O unusual....)

On the beach. My mind went to another place, but I found my way ashore easily after I recalibrated. Mint juleps all around.

Solved the grid. Will keep trying for the meta, only my second one, new to metas. I see waiting to Saturday for a nudge is de rigeur. Good rule.
