Made it to the beach.
The mug is within my reach.
Will I be lucky?

On shore ... and on Page 724, cursing the day job that kept me away so long.

Count me on shore...
We did not have to memorize this in high school but I did anyway because I loved it. Expressing ourselves beautifully is a lost art. When I think of how we express ourselves today, especially the youth like, um, ya know ... and that's gold compared to ty, ttyl. Oh well, gtg. Will be afk for a while.

What could be better??? How about a second Carlsberg.

A few years ago I started learning some of the speeches as a way to pass the time during my ~45 min walk to/from work. This is definitely the one I know best, but a few of the Henry V ones aren't far behind ('O! for a muse of fire' 'Once more unto the breach' and St Crispan's day).LadyBird wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 6:18 pmThis brought back memories of driving my (and other kids) to high school. One of the requirements in one of the English classes was to recite that soliloquy from memory. Went through several years of listening to muttered recitations from the back seat on the way to school. No one was reciting it with meaning--they were all plowing through it as quickly as they could before it dropped out of their memory.
Check out this very cool project by many of your favorite muggles to raise money to fight cancer. You get a fun puzzle bundle and good causes get $. Win-win: Crosswords for Cancer

Must confess, I know the "What a piece of work is man" soliloquy by heart only because it was "sampled" in a song from the musical "Hair."Inca wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 6:37 pm Count me on shore...

My older sister listened to the soundtrack album all the time. Sometimes she'd forget to lift the needle and play the really dirty songs (well, what passed for dirty back then)!

On shore. Maybe all that High School English wasn't so bad after all?
Truthfully, I have probably learned more about the author from crosswords and Jeopardy...oh well.
Good to be back in the win column!
Vodka + Tonic time.

I solved the grid. There's one entry that has me scratching my head. I wonder if that's a clue to the meta or just me being me...
