Have been lurking on this forum for several months now, but I was so giddy over a 30-minute solve that I just had to sign up and join in on the fun of getting safely ashore in the forum. Back-to-back Friday solves for me for a first time. Fast, fun solve that had me audibly exclaim "Oooooh."

The meta and much of the grid seemed to be in my blindspots, and I thought I might miss this week's excursion. A new day, fresh coffee, and this 100% came into focus. On shore!

Good Friday morning

First a warm welcome to our four newest Muggles: William Koslosky, Anthony Sarnicola and Michael Silverman from the WSJ page and Nick from the blog. That brings our muggle count to 440.

There has been a steady stream of muggles to the shore. 5 of us are keeping Isaac in business and 62 of you are on the shore. Maybe I should find a fast food restaurant here in southern Maine for lunch to give me inspiration.

Toes in sand. Both literally (at a beach rental on Lake Michigan) and figuratively (WSJCC). Nice to have an squeezy one while on vacay.

On shore, but I had to battle with the meta more than most seem to have.

Always an uneasy feeling when people are solving the meta before finishing the grid and I am staring at a complete grid with no insights! I suppose the answer is to not read the thread until after solving. :)

squeezy meta solve here. Don't think I've ever eaten at one, though.
If you like Rows Gardens check out my mini ones here: viewforum.php?f=41. Nudges are free on the off chance Iโ€™ve solved the meta.

My AHA! moment was coincidental to compulsively drooling at the thought of their fare, but that happens more than I'd care to admit and at fast food joints across the board.

On shore.

A couple sections were such doozies that I feared Iโ€™d have to try solving the meta using incomplete information and then back-solve the puzzle. But they eventually submitted, and the charming meta revealed itself.

Cheers!
