On the beach, but not quite done with the grid. It's Miller Time.

On shore with 50% of the grid finished. Next week, "Falling-off-a-log February" will be over -- to be followed by Merciless March?

Got this one with grid only one-third finished. Very cute though!

Ashore. I had the meta before I could fully work out its parts, and it always pays to be sure... Should be a holiday weekend crowd on the beach. Happy Purim to all who are celebrating!

Remember that you can spell Bourbon from the chemical symbols.Scraps wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 4:44 pm Ashore from my dives on a lovely calm day in the gulf, and now ashore from my brief meta swim.
I thought I'd try to find a drink named after a chemical compound. Failed. I did find something called the "Periodic Table of Cocktails," but I would blush to say the risqué names of most of those drinks out loud. Never mind.
I'll stick with a nice safe single malt neat. When my youngest son was in the Navy, he was allowed to bring back one bottle of spirits after a port call in Scotland. He gave me his only authorized bottle, a cask strength Auchentoshan. I have just enough left to nurse until sunset.
Edit: AND Scotch.

On the beach. In Texas this week, we have ice in the glass, rather than ice on the road. A good change!

I submitted a guess but chances are this ended my longest streak which was more than double my previous streak.
Edit: I guess my streak is still alive? My Hail Mary was correct.

Marion and I are on the sand with all the Muggles - feels like there will be a big gang again. As I said last week, it's time for the WSJ to give out more mugs that just one when there are thousands of winners. Lobby Mike Miller............

Another super easy one. The meta even helped me fill in the last few squares.

See post #107 from Feb 5, 2021puzzle (Poetic Justice), for an explanation as to why these in February have been 'relatively' easy.otlaolap wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 5:13 pm On shore. These puzzles lately have become a simple chore, lacking challenge or interest or elegance (albeit well crafted). So the job is done for this week. I long for the days in which I could count on a nice trip at sea, lolling on a gently rocking luxury liner, with a passtime at hand to keep me occupied while I awaited dinner an the opening of the bar. Perhaps I would fail in my endeavor (I was roughly 50-50) but the trip was fun. Let us hope that the Gods of the Journal see fit to restore this opportunity soon.

Ashore. I guessed correctly even before slogging through the grid.
