Just sent in my answer. I always like to let it percolate a day or two. Will be interested in hearing an alternate answer since I only came up with one!

I’ve been enjoying all the poems here. I haven’t done much in that area lately, but here are a couple from the 5th grade version of myself — Beth E

There was an old man in a boat,
He owned the most beautiful coat.
He fell off his ship,
And took a long trip.
Down to the end of the moat.

The sky is gray.
The sky is blue.
It is pink, orange, and yellow, too.
The clouds are in the sky.
They sometimes form pictures.
And sometimes just a swirling mist.
But whatever the color of the sky,
And whatever the form of the clouds,
I think the sky is beautiful.

From Boy Scouts, or, maybe, Cub Scouts:

Roses are red, violets are blue.
Some poems rhyme, and some don't.

And who is this Mr. G everyone talks about? Is he related to Mr. T ("I pity the fool....")?
Even should you not know who Mr. G is, he surely knows who YOU are!! ;)

Onshore! Wow, on a two-week streak.
What a fun construction. As we say so often, the skills we see week after week are truly impressive and amazing.
Thanks, too, to Wendy for filling in as cruise director!

Finally made it to shore last night. It shouldn't have taken that long but at least I made it.

Wonderful summer afternoon. Closing in on solving the highly interesting grid, laptop on knees, sitting on the porch. Imagine my 'puzzlement' when I looked at my grid, and all my hard earned answers were gone! Every square in the grid read "D".

Yes, I snoozed off with a thumb somewhere between the "S" "E" and "F" keys.

Nonetheless, a refreshing mid-day nap.

I think that I shall never see
A meta solved so easily

But If you had needed a clue
The title tells you what to do

Once you have made the deduction
You'll admire the construction

With all the Muggles on the shore
Isaac's feeling so uncared-for

We got far with just our noodle
But needed some help from Google

For a weekend free of struggle
I thank Mike Shenk for the puzzle

(Apologies to Joyce Kilmer and for the last 2 stanzas which don't quite rhyme.)

Saturday evening report, before Dearest Partner & I head out to a production of "The Producers" at Longwood Gardens on this beautiful summer evening here in Pennsylvania.
The poems that you folks have offered are delightful! Thank you! What a talented, uh, crew.
Joining the shore party since Friday are Ann, Beth C, Beth A, Carla, Colin, Deb F, Eric Porter, GR Winski, Guy, Gwyneth, Jen Irvin, L in NC (welcome to our happy band!), Patty, Richard, Rad 26, Susan Goldberg, Sheila W., and Tim 1217.
Maine Marge has come ashore but Olivia Zink remains uncertain of her answer.
Arnold Brockman has posted a warning about betrayal (does he mean spoilers?) but I'm not seeing any and I'm usually the first to gripe about them.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

I had posted some partial spoilers on another thread. After reading Arnold's post, I checked that thread and found the spoilers.

THANK YOU, ARNOLD!

Thanks also to BrianMac for his patience & help in correcting my transgressions.

Then thanks to Wendy for filling in as Cruise Director.
