Ashore - glass of Blanton's in hand.
Work so gets in the way of my getting the puzzle done, which my excuse for being late to the beach. That's my story and i"m sticking to it.

Finished the grid. Haven't figured out the meta yet.
Others shared some beautiful music last week. Here is something I ran across a few minutes ago. Love this song from Les Mis, but this rendition is just superb.

I have no idea what you're chirping about!
This will be me, soon after 6:30 AM ET, tomorrow. Join me!
EDIT 1: Me at 6:35 AM, today:
EDIT 2: Methinks they harvested oligodendrocytes & astrocytes instead of thrombocytes. Bad day & week (#5) for it. Bummer.

That was just excellent. I love that song, and he sang it so well.SewYoung wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 10:16 pm Finished the grid. Haven't figured out the meta yet.

We have a small entryway that is obviously not insulated--except there is a door between this and the living room. The top temp is the outdoor temp--the other temp is inside in the entryway (the 40 is the humidity). We have occasionally used the entryway as a backup frig. It could be a freezer tonight.

Ashore.
I found the meta mechanism a little unusual but relatively straightforward.

Ashore, joining others who don’t quite see the full logic of the mechanism (assuming I’ve submitted the correct answer). At first I was pessimistic that I would get past all the recent music references, but finished the grid without googling!

Most likely on a crowded beach but I'm glad to be here nevertheless!

Ashore, on shore, pretty shore.
Once again, the feeling of school daze déjà vu sweeps over me (thanks Matt).
Not a lot of symmetry in the mechanism I found, but it will do.
Reality isn't the way you wish things to be, it is what it is.
Almost filled the grid without consulting Mr. G. The last to fall, 30-D, forced my hand. Didn't know that was a thing.
11-D reminded me to use my DNKN' coupon for a free cup (You keep running, we'll keep making ... ).

Interesting to see another appearance of 45A
Watched the video of 17A on Utube - man that was a long time ago - wait for the brief wheelbarrow cameo
