On the very crowded shore - 11 minutes start to finish after last week's mental block.

Grid was tougher than the meta for me this week--too many references to things I know nothing about. But, I did it and that's what counts.

The solution fits the clue. But, I think there are other words that are much more important in making a good journalist...and seeming to get more and more rare as time goes on.

On shore. This kind of mechanism feels familiar. Probably easier for people who have been doing these metas for a while, but I could see it still being hard for noobs. Anyway, good grid and meta!

Reporting in from the stern garden. Grid done. Meta will have to wait for later.
Issac is sleeping late this morning, so I’m getting back to my gardening now. The nice captain has given me an upgrade to a room with a view of the shore for taking on this job, so this week at least I know which direction to start swimming if I get the solution. Will give you updates throughout the day on any breaking meta news.

Who dat???

Reporting as solved. Does anyone remember the movie, Paper Chase, with John Houseman? After watching that, I decided I would NEVER attend Harvard Law. Oh, and after watching The Prize (1963), I decided I would NEVER accept a Nobel Prize. Oh, and after watching...................

I'm on shore with nothing to do this weekend but enjoy the cool sea breezes, refreshing beverages and lots of company.

Love Nantucket but getting to and from can present real challenges. Hope you make it and have a great time.

After allowing myself to be "paginated" last week, on shore--100%. Sorry to see so much of the country baking this weekend--we are somewhat used to the heat and humidity in Hilton Head but, even for us, this week was like being in an oven. Stay hydrated, gang. Work in a water between margaritas!

Good Friday morning fellow muggles and a warm welcome to our esteemed puzzle creator Matt Gaffney

We have had a continuous line waiting the shuttle to shore ever since the puzzle came out. Some muggles even chose to swim rather than wait in line.

We currently have 72 muggles on the shore and two keeping Isaac in business or tending garden on the ship's stern.

For anyone in the heat, stay safe and beat the heat any way you can (hint - do as I do in this week's avatar)
