#646 - "Rising Force"

An excellent puzzle written by one of the innovators of the meta crossword format. It comes out every Friday at noon and increases in difficulty throughout the month. Available for modest subscription (worth every cent) here: www.xwordcontest.com

Is anyone else having problems with the .PUZ file? I'm getting "Import failed - format not recognized" when I try and load it....

No issue here; I downloaded it from the patreon page. But the email link also works for me. I use Across Lite on a PC.

Thanks; I use Alphacross on an Android tablet...never have had an issue with importation before with dozens of Gaffney, AVX, MMMM, Fireball or the various puzzles people make and post in here...

I had no problem with .puz in AcrossLite on Windows. Or the meta for that matter. Beam me up!

I'm on AlphaCross on my Android phone currently because my printer is out of action - having a similar problem with importing the .puz too.

EDIT: For anyone else having the same problem - you can download the Shortyz app from the Play Store and move the .puz file into the crosswords folder created in your tab's root directory using a file manager to get the crossword running. It's not as nice UI wise as alphacross but gets the job done for those with no alternatives.

I thought I had it, but I am not on his board. Maybe he will accept my answer later.

You're listed under Overall, which means your answer wasn't accepted. If you think that's in error, you can email Matt. If you want to PM me the answer you submitted, I'll be glad to tell you if it's correct.

I've googled more stuff for this grid than the 25-ish MGWCC puzzles I've done before this combined...

Beam me up! Streak is at 8; I'll have to get weeks 4 and 5 to make it to 10. (So... probably not going to make it to 10, but I'll give it a shot!)
