It took me two rounds of some heavy thinking and chasing various rabbits, but I got there in the end, now safely on the leaderboard, whew, getting a week 5 makes me very happy!

So far, drawing blanks. Going to have to spend some quality time with the clipboard this evening.

Even dividing up all my rabbit holes with all my personalities, I still don't have enough selves to chase them all down.

I got Step One but can't see how to get from there to whatever comes next.
Strange that so many of the earlier submission were wrong. Were people so eager to be among the first on the board that they went with something that wasn't 100%?

You know it’s a week 5, right? Or were you being sarcastic? Sarcasm is so hard online. Is there an emoji for it?

My guess: The official date of release (despite being delayed 24 hours) is August 1, 2020, or "the first puzzle of the month."
Let's go with wry, no... or pithy, no... entertainingly clever rather than sarcastic.

Wry, pithy, sarcastic? I strive for entertainingly clever, but will gladly settle for one of the two. Maybe I should take the puzzle title's advice.

34 correct out of 43 submissions.
I'm still wandering in the wilderness on this one.
I think he'd been saving this one for this month ...

yes, it is. But I just found a warm trail of bread crumbs for this one ... now to see where it leads me.

Took me a day and a half of trying every trick in the book to find step one! Now back to trying every trick in the book again to find step two! Not giving up yet!

Unequivocally found the first step... And now? At least I have a way in. Hoping for post enlightenment.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Glad we have an extra day here as I’m stuck on that first step. Maybe another good night’s sleep will take me there!

I’m changing the title to Don’t Even Cry. My streak has ended. My answer seemed logical. Dang it!

Okay, my efforts have led me to a 7-letter word and I have submitted it. If correct, this will be a week 5 solo solve and will be a huge thrill for me.
