After trying at least 8 things that didn’t work, I finally saw what to do. Whew. On shore.

Ashore and in awe. I tried about a thousand different things and then one little crumb got me started on the right path...which still took a LONG time to find the end to because I got diverted at least twice. Some day I hope to make a puzzle as good as this. Difficult but doable. The grid was a bit of a slog at times. I got stuck on the lower (not lowest) left side and needed Mr. G., but struggled through the rest. I still can't believe I found the way.

Oh yeah, baby, I are ashore! These puzzles am fun. Almost gave up, but I knew I were on to something, I just has to figure out how to apply it correctly.

This is like, some in a row. I will not jinx myself by starting to count again.

Reporting on the boat. Ordering a glass of Bandol to enjoy while I take a break from the meta and jump back into the Count of Monte Cristo for a bit. I think Abbé Faria is about to tell Dantès about the treasure.

Also, Isaac says, "Hi!"

With all these land crabs reporting ashore, it must be [Echo Zulu]. I'm down a deep and cavernous rabbit hole. My eyes are either seeing what they want to see, or I have the Metasaurus by the tail. Sending my notes to the Smarter Half, see if she can find the rest of the monster.

Ahoy, Isaac!
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Enjoyed it!

Edit 1: “Missed it by that much!”

Edit 2: Sometimes I feel like I live a charmed life! On my original post, I was surely #21 on page 2. Thanks to @Bob cruise director and @boharr I’ve been bumped up back to Page 1! Enjoying the meta high either way!
I love that your criteria for a charmed life are so modest!

!OOOH, Bandol, there's an oenophiles choice. My favorite is the Tempier but there are many good ones. Now try it with a nice dish of cassoulet (and yes, a Minervois, Corbières or Malepère would be the default choice but tough to beat the elegance of a well made Bandol)

I am ashore this morning after doing the grid last night. Impressive puzzle. I'll take a champurrado with a spot of rum.

My baby brother is the oenophile and I was introduced to it at one of his parties. Off the top of my head, I can't remember which one we had. I think it pairs well with a complex story of revenge.

Good Saturday morning muggles

After a rousing Friday Zoom call we now have 4 on the ship and 152 on the shore.

We welcome our newest muggle since yesterday @Serafin

For new muggles, in addition to the scheduled Friday and Sunday zoom calls, the best way to get a nudge is to send a Private Message to any muggle who is on shore. Many muggles have notes under their posts indicating that they are more than willing to help. The best approach is to send a PM to one or more muggles, tell them what you have done and where you are stuck. "I am totally lost" is also more than acceptable. The problem with a general posting about getting a nudge is that we don't know if you have gotten no response or multiple responses.
