In this one, I noticed something that was either a very strange coincidence or a hint as to what to look for in solving the meta.I imagine that other early solvers saw the same thing. Also, people who have a lot of experience with these have a large toolbox of strategies to try in converting the hints into a solution.

It can't hurt. I noticed that a week or two ago, NYT made their daily Spelling Bee free. Before that, even subscribers had to pay extra for it.Wendy Walker wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 6:21 pm Muggles, what does everyone think of the idea of sending a Letter to the Editor to the WSJ thanking them for continuing to provide the puzzle during the pandemic? It has been such a help for so many reasons! I will volunteer to write it and will post it for suggestions. If it's a dumb idea, don't hesitate to tell me so.

That’s the toolbox I’m looking to crack open.Bird Lives wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 7:41 pmIn this one, I noticed something that was either a very strange coincidence or a hint as to what to look for in solving the meta.I imagine that other early solvers saw the same thing. I agree.
I was a Gaffney guy - But the past two Shenk puzzles are making me rethink that.

The Times sometimes open things like Spelling Bee and Letter Box and then later shuts them. Trying to hook you in I suppose.Bird Lives wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 7:45 pmI can't hurt. Quickly ashore. Unlike 44D, all my work was done by Thursday.
Stay well!

BTW, one of Liberty's eggs hatched just about 48 hours ago. The other one is due anytime. Here's a pic from within the last hour of her feeding the little eaglet. Justice brought home a huge catfish from the Mississippi. Hard to tell the scale, but the nest is 7 feet in diameter!

On shore. I really liked this one.
I hope Al Sisti checked his work more carefully this week.
I spent about 15 minutes looking into an empty rabbit hole which I should have known was wrong, but I stumbled into the correct one.

https://dickpritchettrealestate.com Is the Nest in Florida I watch. The Eaglets are about 2 weeks old. This is actually the pairs second clutch this season (SUPER RARE). In the first clutch one egg didn't hatch and one did but the eaglet got fed a rat that been poisoned and died so we thought the season was over with no eaglets fledging but nature surprised everyone with a second clutch.

Is there a correlation between metas and birdcams? I've been watching a nesting pair of eagles in Minnesota and California for a few years now. Fascinating! For me, it started with that pregnant giraffe named April. Then I switched to eagles and hummingbirds.

What, we're ahead of Al in the 'streak' department! Savor this, as it certainly won't last!
We're ashore, and two in a row!

Started virtual happy hour early, and forgot it was Thursday again. It's still Thursday......right?
Oh, and I'm on shore. And I've already got a drink, thanks.
