I have what I am quite sure is the answer. A hasty solution could be a near miss.
I know what you are talking about - because I almost fell into that trap but most of the fast people on here have done lots of MG puzzles so they won't have made that mistake.
I doubt that many, if any, of the veterans were incorrect. I missed it at first - I'm no expert.

Keynes also said that the markets can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.
I'm glad to see the attribution of that quote was correct - I frequently see it misattributed to everyone from Warren Buffet to Alan Greenspan.

Ashore at last. Good puzzle, but will wait to write about how I got to the solution.

On the shore. Never had that sandwich before. Also, “heel” is the term in Chicago as well. I’ve never heard another term for it.
If you like Rows Gardens check out my mini ones here: viewforum.php?f=41. Nudges are free on the off chance I’ve solved the meta.

So with a half gallon of Manhattans laid by, I will work on the meta.
Jackpot!

Names and identities have been changed to protect the innocent, but ... I once saw a pitcher of Kamikazes at a wedding reception. As the song sorta goes: 'I'll take the Manhattans!'
'tis... A lovely day for a Guinness!

Happily ashore after not even getting close last week. I'll have a Manhattan, but just one, not a growler-full...

Seeing the comments by tax attorneys, is the law to which they refer the Corporate Attorneys' Relief for Extra Spending Act?

there will be binging by the tax professionals, but not the kind that's being discussed on this forum.

Not a new muggle, but want you to be aware of my change. I was having technical troubles and couldn't post for a long time - so I went with the squeezy solution. Thanks for your great tracking efforts - Susan

Here in Maine we call a loaf of bread toast when it’s all gone except for the 2 heels. However I always opt for an end piece of a fresh out of the oven warm loaf. I’m a total convert to the Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day method.

Anyway, here's the Friday night musical interlude! A bunch of Russians (I think) covering one of Chicago's best. Grab a beverage and crank it up!

Great song!! Love the horn section! I feel old........but great song!
Yeah, they're Leonid and Friends -- from all around Russia. Many don't speak English, but man, do they play some great music. Serge Tiagniryadno owns the Peter Cetera stuff, and Ksenia Buzina wants to marry me. Sorry, that was a typo. Ksenia Buzina is a phenomenal singer.

Bob cruise director wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2020 12:52 pm Speaking of sandwiches, another interesting discussion is what you call the ends of a loaf of bread
You've got a lot of crust asking that...or at least that is what we referred to them as "crusts". I always imagined that when someone got "just a crust of bread" it was an end piece because why else would it have such a pejorative connotation? We used to use them for bait. I mean we would take bread but the "good stuff" we ended up rolling into little balls and eating and used the "crusts" for bait.

She told me that the last time I saw her...

The missus present prevented her from saying it to me.

In another note, I really enjoy the music links here. Except they can lead to many hours of enjoyable, but lost time...

Ha! That's exactly what I told my friend when he sent me a picture of him with the girls from Larkin Poe. Like Rick Estrin and the Nightcats say: "sometime a man ain't nothing but a dog on two legs."

215 posts by Friday night? Holy smokes! Bob is going to have a full-time job on his hands just keeping track of all of us (thanks, Bob). I’m on shore, btw. I’ll take it squeezy tonight and just have a bucket of Coors Lights, please, Isaac.

On shore. Almost got caught in the solved-too-fast trap, but caught myself before submitting!

Worked on this in between steps for making my family's traditional Italian Easter bread. Good way to spend the day.
