MEOW #189 All or Nothing

A weekly meta crossword on the forum started by member Josh (aka madhatter5). These puzzles are often very creative with solving mechanisms out of the norm and skewing towards the more challenging. Puzzles are posted every Wednesday, and the solution appears the following Tuesday.

MEOW #189 All or Nothing

All or Nothing Banner.jpg
This rather describes my meta experiences; it is all or nothing. I can either see them almost within the first hour or so of completing the grid, or struggle with them until I have to yell "Uncle". Hopefully this one will be a quick trip and I'll get a LOT more Alls than Nothings. If forced to rate it I would give it a 2-3 only because it is one where you infer, as opposed to spell out, the answer.

Kitten
CALICO
PERSIAN
Puma
Lion

I thank my testers, @eisense and @HeadinHome. It has been so long they probably have forgotten about it - good two more possible solvers!!

Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta! :D

Cats are free! New cats are now mingling with old cats, and cat-with-no-name has been dubbed Teddy.
I don't have anything clever to say, but if I did, it would go here.

By the way - I once got the question, "Why is this still MEOW, Madhatter has retired". Well this is a picture of a typical AM in our house! There are two more who were eating across the room (anti-social) so I certainly qualify to run a MEOW (besides Cat House Metas bring to mind a very different style and cluing...).

Now, if only I could figure out a way to open the bag and let them out. But I have nothing.

Debagged the feline... phew! I got mired in rabbit-holes from the start, but a fresh look this morning got me over the finish line. Classic DrTom!
