I'm a newbie to xword puzzle technology. How can i get this in PUZ format (I want to have the solved PUZ after I solve it)?

This page has the grid, but I'm not sure how to fill it out and save it.

Ashore with a nudge from Ship 4 U. It was a big nudge, redirecting my meta partner in crime and me to look at something we had dismissed as just one more weird thing. So, so many rabbit holes along the way.

Ashore!

With any luck my daughter will give me a bottle of Single Malt for Father's Day which I will enjoy while watching the US open. 4 weeks ago, I was down in Pinehurst playing Tobacco Road!

I’m a Mac user, but I believe Across Lite is available for Windows too. It will let you fill and save the file.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Ashore but not easily. Good grief. I needed something way beyond a nudge to get me to the beach. Thanks to Don!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.

Sunny and 24 (canuck) degrees in Montreal, and The Smarter Half and I are having an ice-cold sumpm in the quivering heat. Underway's the only way, land is just an hazard to navigation.

That is to say, we're at sea, and, as seasoned sailors, we're happy so to be.

For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Agreed. Amazing puzzle. I know I am in the minority and I won't spoil why I feel that way until my Crossword Fiend writeup drops at 12:01.

Got a late start on this one and haven't even found a rabbit hole to go down. Would anybody be willing to send a light nudge towards shore?

Never did post - Done and done. And checking e-mail, I posted done last week, but never sent it in! Maybe I have a better shot not sending it in so early? I wonder what number the winner entry has been over time. No way for us to know though. :(
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Enjoying the ship cruise this week! Brainstorming with Dan my consultant, we did not get anywhere either. Sorry to miss out on a brilliant one!

Solved, with lots of help from BarbaraK. But, I agree with a previous poster.....how were we supposed to know to do that? I must have missed a signpost. Or maybe my powers of observation are just not up to the level needed.

Another Sunday evening rescue mission at Last Call filled in the many missing pieces of my initial observations. Definitely a most uncommon meta.

I’m on the ship! No time to spend on this one because I am quite literally on a ship - the fabulous Oceania Regatta! Mr. Hidden and I are enjoying a “Wildlife and Frontiers” cruise in Alaska. After reading everyone’s comments, I’m so glad I didn’t waste another second trying to figure out this meta. The gondola ride up 1300 feet was a much better way to relax and appreciate a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

On shore!

A nice nudge from @Wendy Walker saying that I was on the right track with one of the paths I was going down got me to try a little harder and figure it out.

I agree that it's a very impressive construction. I also agree with those who put this in the "not my favorite type of meta" category. Still, I can't imagine how Matt and Peter could create this.

As a stubborn solo solver (I think there are like 5 of us left at this point), reading the comments assured me that I shouldn't bother doing this one.

I have two wild ass guesses based on the shakiest of observations. I'll eeny-meeny-miny-moe one before midnight/after watching the House of the Dragon Season 2 premiere.

Good evening muggles

Our final count is 33 on the ship and 86 on the shore.

Good luck to those submitting entries to win the mug.

Thanks to the folks at the Last Call, I can now say ashore--no mug submission, of course. I had an inkling of the right idea but my execution was lacking. Kudos to those few solo solvers--your mug chances are pretty good!
