MEOW #167 It's a Disaster

A weekly meta crossword on the forum started by member Josh (aka madhatter5). These puzzles are often very creative with solving mechanisms out of the norm and skewing towards the more challenging. Puzzles are posted every Wednesday, and the solution appears the following Tuesday.

I will fully admit that the idea for this meta was blatantly stolen from another constructor (actually two). The meta answer is, of course, different but the mechanism is the same. It came together rather quickly and thankfully I had the expert help of @ajk as a tester and he really helped improve it.

So, quietly so you do not disturb the monster, see if you can dust off the cover and reveal the name of this work.

Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta! :D

Is that an original Jackson Polecat! I have seen similar art in our kitchen as well.

PURR-haps you're right! At FURst I thought it was a MEOW-net or a PURR-CAT-so.
