Bob, take my name off the list of people ashore.
I'm not in the ship either. Count me overboard.

Overboard… exactly.

That was a real head-scratcher this week - thanks for dragging my bedraggled body to shore, Zoom crew!

I'll be dreaming of the warm puzzle beach during this weekend's projected high of 8 degrees. :|

Wow, what a great zoom session! I counted 74 participants and everyone seemed to enjoy it! Have a great weekend everyone!!

EDIT: I have been informed by our esteemed Cruise Director that we had 87 participants! I believe that to be a record number!

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

In the past, I would solve the puzzles each day, and on Fridays I would look at the contest clue and just wait for the next puzzle. I had no clue about how to solve to get the answer. I had no idea about metas, muggles, rabbit holes, etc.
While on a month long land/sea trip with brothers John and Bill (2 of my 5 brothers) in August, John had Bill and I try to solve the Friday puzzle with him. John tried to explain all about the metas, the clues, and tricks to solve. We did 4 puzzles while on that trip. When we got home, we have continued solving together, even though I live in NY, Bill in MD and John in GA. We have FaceTimed each Thursday or Friday to try to solve the puzzle since September. Last night, I got in bed and was called to action with a FaceTime visit from the brothers. We worked for almost an hour and we were ashore!!! I just confirmed with the Zoom meeting that we were correct. It has been great fun and I thank the Don and Wendy of the zoom meetings for their great support. They make this a lot of fun, not work! I look forward to each week's challenge. Now I just have to wait to win the mug! Mary (newbymar)
Welcome, Mary! A couple of years ago I was the same… did the WSJ crosswords but no clue about the Friday Meta. I tried a few, found this group and have been hooked since then !! It is a great group and solving the Meta is great fun now!

Channeling my inner Charly Gordon.

Another week with Isaac, and the bar looks crowded.

Ashore!!
It was 75 degrees today so I sat outside wearing shorts and a tee shirt to struggle with the puzzle. Tonight it’s supposed to drop into the 20s so it’s time to wrap the pipes under the house and leave the water dripping…
Keep warm everyone!!

Ashore after realizing old conventions can be modified.
Especially with a friend to share ideas.

Isaac ran out of stools so I am helping him mixing drinks this weekend. I have been shanking 2 metas in a row
