Good Friday Morning muggles

As @steveb demonstrated in his post https://www.xword-muggles.com/viewtopic ... 20#p150547 neither rain, nor sleet nor open heart surgery can keep muggles from doing the WSJ Friday meta. Well done Steve and keep recovering.

For anyone else that always completes the puzzle in the actual paper, did yours have a lot of "staining" from the ink of the color photos opposite? I had to meticulously attempt to erase away what I could so I could see my pencil marks!

I finished the grid today; no clue yet on the meta. But I have an excuse. I had open-heart surgery Monday for an aortic aneurysm. I just got out of the cardiac ICU today. I’m feeling much better and on the road to recovery.

I would post a picture but I can’t figure out how to do it on my phone.

Good for you and good luck with your recovery! I am six weeks out from open heart (on Halloween of all days) and can feel your pain! Keep with the recovery plan and keep up with distractions like crosswords and metas. I made it with through without losing a three year streak on Duolingo so I feel lucky! Lisa solves the metas usually anyway, so no problem there. But we have done LOTS of crosswords the past six weeks.

99% sure I've got it, quick & easy one that probably took all of 3 minutes to solve after the grid was done. But I'm not sure that I particularly love how it answers the question... either it's a phrase or usage that I'm just not familiar with, or the last 1% of me that it's sure I'm right, is right. LOL.
